Operations performed with DVD Wizard PRO
First operation mode of DVD Wizard PRO is copying of Data- or Video-DVDs to another DVDs. If you have only combo drive which is used for reading and burning, the application in the beginning will read DVD out to hard disk (to Output Directory of the application chosen in program settings), and then will ask to insert a blank disk to your DVD drive. The application also supports copying of DVD9 disks (Dual Layer). In this case the application extracts only one video chain and one audio stream for this chain selected by you
The second operation mode of DVD Wizard PRO is creation of VCD/SVCD disks out of Video-DVDs. In contrast to some other similar applications which only create AVI/MPEG files and call this operation "Creation of VCD", DVD Wizard PRO truly creates VCD disks (with folders CDI, EXT, MPEGAV and VCD). In case the movie does not fit to one disc, the application asks you to insert another one disk to burn the last part of the movie on a second disc. Like in the first mode, a combo drive may be used.
It should be noted, that although the application in both the first and the second modes asks for blank CD/DVD to write to, if you insert not empty CD/DVD RW, the application will accomplish formatting of the disk before writing to it.
The third operation mode is creation of AVI files on a hard drive out of DVD movies. For conversion external codecs are used, and when selecting this mode you need to choose at first a codec from those available in your system. Remember, that if you specified codec with bugs, then your output AVI movie might be non-playable. An output movie is stored to the Output Directory of the application.
Concluding with the application modes, it may be noticed, that in all these modes the source of data is a DVD, and the application does not have means to use iso-image or files from hard disk as a source data. This fact slightly limits applications of the program.
Now some words about program's interface. Interface of the program is nice and simple: all the controls are situated on one compact window. There are only a few settings; therefore you need only 1-2 mouse clicks to set the program to the mode you wish.
